Polestar 2 range expanded
Polestar has now expanded the range of the 2 with the addition of two new variants at a lower price entry point.
The car is now available with a single motor with either a 64kWh Standard battery, or the current 78kWh Long Range battery. WLTP preliminary range figures for these are 260-273 miles and 320-325 miles respectively. Power outputs are 224bhp on the Standard Range car and 231bhp on the Long Range car. The range-topping Long Range Dual Motor car remains unchanged at 408bhp.
With the price entry point now at £39,900 the company now says it is more accessible to a wider audience further helping its shift to more sustainable mobility.
Yet whilst the price has been pared back, the standard equipment hasn’t with 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, vegan-friendly interior materials, and its excellent Google-based 11-inch OS infotainment screen.
Whilst the ‘Performance Pack’ remains the preserve of the Long Rage Dual Motor car, the new cars are available with two new optional packs. ‘Plus Pack’ brings. The full-length panoramic glass roof, Harman Kardon audio system with 13 speakers, heated steering wheel, rear seats and wipers, WeaveTech upholstery, Black Ash deco panels, fully-electric heated front seats with memory and a new heat pump.
The ‘Pilot Pack’ includes enhanced safety and driver assistance features, such as the Pixel LED headlights with LED front fog lights, Driver Assistance with Adaptive Cruise Control and Pilot Assist, a 360-degree surround view camera, all-round parking sensors, and Driver Awareness including Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with steering support, Cross traffic alert with brake support and rear collision warning.
The cars are available to order now exclusively online at Polestar.com with deliveries slated for September 2021.
